When the HearFlow window is open, it now behaves like every other Mac app: a real menu bar up top, with the things you reach for most.

• Check for updates, yourself. In the HearFlow menu and the menu-bar dropdown — no more waiting for the daily background check.
• Settings, one keystroke away. ⌘, opens Settings from anywhere in the app.
• Copy and paste just work. A real Edit menu means ⌘C / ⌘V / ⌘Z behave properly in every text field.
• Still menu-bar-first. Close the window and HearFlow tucks back into the menu bar like before.

A reliability pass on dictation. A few of you hit a recording that wouldn't stop when you told it to — that's fixed at the root, plus a safety net behind it.

• Letting go always stops it. Even a very quick press-and-release now ends the recording, every time.
• A built-in stopping point. If a recording is ever left running, HearFlow wraps it up after two minutes — and still types what you said.
• Hands-free mode is now a choice. Double-tap-to-lock moved to a toggle in Settings → Hotkey, so an accidental double-tap can't leave the mic running. Turn it on if you like talking hands-free.
• Steadier reads from Claude. Fixed a case where reading a reply from the Claude desktop app could produce silence instead of speech.

HearFlow has always read to you. Now it works the other way as well: hold a key and talk, and your words land wherever your cursor is — an email, an essay, a chat box, anywhere you can type.

Your speech turns into text right inside your Mac — nothing gets uploaded, and there's nothing to wait for.

• Hold to talk. Press and hold the 🌐 (Globe / fn) key, speak, let go — the text appears at your cursor.
• Hands-free mode. Double-tap the key to lock recording, talk as long as you like, then tap once to finish.
• Works in any app. The same key dictates into whatever you're typing in.
• Your music keeps playing. Dictate while a song or video runs through your headphones — the sound stays crisp.

Same idea as the read-aloud side: one key, anywhere, no fuss.
