§ Terms · the agreement, in writing

An agreement,
in writing.

These are the terms that govern your use of HearFlow — what we promise, what we ask of you, and what happens when something goes sideways. We've kept the legal scaffolding where it has to be, and otherwise tried to write the rest like people.

Last updated May 23, 2026 Effective May 23, 2026 Version 1.0
§ At a glance

The short version.

  • Use HearFlow to read what's yours to read. Personal, professional — fair game. Don't use it for anything illegal or to abuse others.
  • It's a monthly subscription. $14.99 a month after a 7-day free trial. Cancel any time; your access lasts until the period ends.
  • The text you select stays yours. We only process it to make audio for you. The audio you generate is yours to use, with a few common-sense limits below.
  • We'll tell you before we change anything. 30 days' notice for material updates to these terms or the price.
§ 01 Accepting these terms.

By installing, opening, or using HearFlow, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you're using HearFlow on behalf of an organization, you confirm you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

These Terms work alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes what we do — and don't — with your data.

§ 02 What HearFlow is.

HearFlow is a Mac application that turns text you select into spoken audio. You highlight text in another app, press a keyboard shortcut, and HearFlow reads it aloud.

The product evolves. We may add, change, or retire features over time to improve the experience or meet operational needs. We won't substantially diminish what you've paid for during an active subscription period without notice.

§ 03 Your account.

To use a paid subscription you need an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

  • Age You must be at least 16 years old to hold a HearFlow account.
  • Security You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account.
  • One person Accounts are individual. You may install HearFlow on the Macs you personally use; please don't share account credentials with others.
  • Notice If you suspect unauthorized access, let us know at hello@hearflow.ai and we'll help you secure your account.
§ 04 Subscription, billing & the trial.

HearFlow is offered as a monthly subscription. New accounts begin with a free trial.

  • Price $14.99 per month, billed monthly. An annual plan is available at a 30% discount to the monthly rate.
  • Free trial 7 days, no card required. If you don't add a payment method by the end of the trial, your subscription simply does not begin.
  • Renewals Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
  • Payments All payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your full card data on our servers.
  • Taxes Where required by law, applicable sales tax, VAT, or GST is added at checkout.
  • Price changes If we change the price, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new rate applies to your account.
§ 05 Cancelling & refunds.

You can cancel any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then.

  • Monthly No refunds for partial monthly periods, since you keep access through the period you've paid for.
  • Annual For annual plans, you may request a pro-rated refund within 30 days of the most recent renewal.
  • Mistakes If you were charged in error, write to hello@hearflow.ai and we'll make it right.
§ 06 Acceptable use.

HearFlow is a quiet tool. Please use it that way. You agree not to:

  • Misuse Use HearFlow for content that is illegal, harassing, defamatory, or designed to deceive someone about who or what they're hearing.
  • Resell Resell, sublicense, or repackage HearFlow as your own product, or build a competing voice-as-a-service offering on top of it.
  • Reverse engineer Decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the underlying voice models — except where this restriction is prohibited by law.
  • Abuse Interfere with HearFlow's operation, overwhelm our infrastructure, or evade billing or rate limits.
  • Impersonate Use the synthesized voice to impersonate a real, identifiable person in a way they haven't consented to.
§ 07 Your content, our software.

The text you select is yours. You grant HearFlow a limited, non-exclusive license to process that text for the sole purpose of producing the audio you've asked for. We don't claim ownership of it, we don't train on it, and we don't retain it after your session ends.

The audio HearFlow generates for you may be used for personal listening and ordinary professional work — listening to documents, papers, your own drafts, and so on. You may not redistribute the synthesized audio as a standalone product (for example, as a paid audiobook, a podcast feed, or a TTS API), and you may not use it to create misleading content as described in section 06.

HearFlow, the HearFlow name, the brand marks, the interface, and the underlying software belong to us. These Terms grant you a license to use HearFlow during an active subscription — they don't transfer any ownership of the product itself.

§ 08 Disclaimers & limits.

We work hard to make HearFlow useful, accurate, and reliable. That said, the law requires we be clear about the limits of what we promise.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations. Where that is the case, the above limits apply to the maximum extent permitted by your local law.

§ 09 Changes, termination & survival.

Changes. We may update these Terms over time. For material changes, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new Terms take effect. Continuing to use HearFlow after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

Your right to leave. You can stop using HearFlow and cancel your subscription at any time.

Our right to suspend. We may suspend or close an account that materially violates these Terms — in particular section 06 (Acceptable Use) — or where required by law. Where reasonable, we'll give you notice and a chance to fix the issue first.

Survival. Sections 06 (Acceptable Use), 07 (Your content, our software), 08 (Disclaimers & limits), and 10 (Governing law & contact) survive termination.

§ 10 Governing law & contact.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. You and HearFlow agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Delaware for any dispute that cannot be resolved informally.

We'd much rather resolve things by talking first. If you have a concern, write to us — we'll do our best to work it out without involving a courtroom.
